After you share a little about yourself so they can get to know you (FIRST DAYS, FIRST IMPRESSIONS) it’s nice to get to know them a little, too!
Here’s a simple form I use duing the #firstweek so that students can connect back USING THE TARGET LANGUAGE. It’s so important to show them they can understand a lot – even if they can’t produce at the same level. Plus, this info helps me tailor my future lessons to connect with my students. (Example: One class loves tennis… I’ll start the sports unit with Rafael Nadal!)
These make for a fun bulletin board (or billboard as my friend K usually calls them). Kids love to show off their work and parents like to peek at them on Family Night. Download the Spanish version “SOBRE MI” form for your students below:

Here it is in French! (Thanks, Christele, Wendy, and Heather!)

Want to help us put this form in other languages? Send us translations and we’ll do it for you!
Did you use this form in your class? How did it go? We’d love to hear how you used it!
Thank you so much! This is wonderful! I just discovered your site, and I love it here! 🙂
Glad to hear it, Tara! Thanks for letting us know!
This is a great idea! I’d love to send you a translation in French. What text editor do you use to create all of your fantastic resources?
Would you send to me after you translate to French? Would love as well!!!
Erica – French form is ready! Enjoy!
Thanks for the French version!
You are very welcome! Grateful for the translation help!
Hi, Kayla! Just added a French version – you can download it (right under the Spanish version). Enjoy! P.S. I use a mix of programs to create. This one was on an app called Over.
Hi Megan! Thanks for the French version and the tip about Over. Looks very cool 🙂
You’re welcome!
Love this. I’d be happy to translate it into Italian, just tell me where to start and I’ll get it done.
Thanks, Daniela! If you want to just send me an email you can just type the main categories one at a time (family, etc) and all the words to describe it beside it. I don’t need any translations back to English – just the correct Italian. [email protected]
Thank you so much for such great idea! However, I cannot open it – can you kindly send me an email with it? Both the first day PP and the activity?
Thank you so much! Will definitely use with my returning 8th graders this week 🙂
You’re welcome, Dylan! Glad you can use it!
Is there any way you could post the template for the Sobre Mi form without any responses already filled in? That would be so helpful!
Hi Marilyn,
If you scroll to the bottom where it says “Download Now” there is a blank version to downlod 🙂
would be nice to maybe include the verb (mi familia es…mis clases favoritas son…) and then they can present their sheet to their group even if they haven’t learned that verb yet.
Also, love the inclusive use of @ and cognates
thanks so much for your generous sharing. Might use my first day with 101 students!
Good idea! Maybe I’ll add the verb in for back-to-school next year!
How about English, for ESL/ENL students. Beautiful fonts!
Could you still use it? I’ll do it for you if you can!
Do you have this in Italian?
Definitely using this for our first day next Tuesday. So many cognates. A non-threatening way to introduce the language and build their confidence so that they’re more willing to take risks and speak Spanish!
I love your ideas and resources!
Hola Megan! I pinned this awhile back, awesome! I’m subbing and wanted to know if you could send me a pdf of the Spanish version? Greatly appreciated! Deb
Hi Deb! I can’t see your email in this comment, but I’m adding the PDF of the “sobre mi” activity to the post above so you can click and download it. Hope it makes for an engaging experience for your students!
