Beyond all of the new ideas I learned at ACTFL in San Diego this year, but my biggest take away was how THANKFUL I am. I’m PROUD of our profession and here’s what I’ve been thinking about the last 5 days.
This is where it all started. Elementary to College… these teachers made me who I am. I don’t remember when I started this nor who told me to do this, but I always try to say “thanks” as I leave a room to whomever invested the time to teach me. So my biggest “thank you” goes to you, my previous teachers. Endless inspiration!
Like you! I feel like I’ve never met a stranger when I’ve met another educator, no matter where that might be (grocery store, twitter, dog park, conferences, other blogs, etc). There’s an instant connection and we tend to talk way longer than anyone else normally would. I love how you push me to be better because we both know, it’s all about the kids. So vital!
For the current ones and the past ones! Each one has taught me something special and I can’t thank them enough for giving me a chance to share what I’m passionate about with them. Crucial!
From principals to specialist, thanks for letting me take risks and not to be afraid of failure. For letting me be a professional and supporting me in my areas of need. No limits!
ACTFL, state & regional ones, language specific, age specific… ALL of these organizations have educators working constantly and selfishly behind the scenes to provide us with opportunities to learn and connect. Thank you if you have been on a board or currently on one. You have made a difference for so many. Inspiring!
I’ve been so lucky to have experiences that have altered my thinking… like my high school home stay in Spain, being a host mom, traveling, attending conferences, field trips with students, guests in our class and Friday afternoon PDs with colleagues and friends. Some times I sought them out, but many times it has been someone else that has helped me have these experiences. Invaluable!
What are you THANKFUL for?
So THANKS to you too, for everything YOU do. Enjoy your time this week with everyone special in your life!
This blog! You’ve saved me and my colleagues so many times and pushed us out of our comfort zones to try new things. Thank you!
Welcome! Glad we helped! Happy Gobble week.
